ELASTICIDADES DE SUBSTITUIÇÃO E DE DEMANDA DE FATORES NA AGRICULTURA BRASILEIRA

Resumo

O presente estudo teve por objetivo estimar elasticidades de substituição e de demanda de terra, trabalho e capital para o setor agropecuário do País. Usaram-se dados censitários agregados a nível de Estado, referentes aos anos de 1969 e 1974, o procedimento iterativo de Zellner e um modelo transcendental logarítmico de custo de produção. Constatou-se que terra e trabalho não são bons complementos, enquanto que capital e trabalho e capital e terra são bons substitutos entre si, em três macro-regiões e no País como um todo.
