DEMANDA DE EDUCAÇÃO PARA CRIANÇAS ENTRE PEQUENOS AGRICULTORES NO VALE DO RIBEIRA

Resumo

Este estudo utiliza informações das famílias em seção cruzada com a finalidade de desenvolver equações de regressão para analisar os fatores que afetam a demanda de educação para crianças no Vale do Ribeira. A especificação do modelo empírico baseia-se nos trabalhos de BECKER e outros (2), nos quais se enfatiza o custo do tempo como um fator que afeta o consumo de bens, incluindo a educação. Os resultados indicam que a participação de crianças nas escolas da área estudada está relacionada aos seus custos de oportunidade, como também às características sócio-econômicas das famílias individuais.
