PARTIDAS GLOBALES PARA LA PROTECCION DE LOS BOSQUES TROPICALES

Resumen

Esta publicación trata políticas internacionales alternativas para proteger los bosques tropicales en relación con su efectividad ecológica y su eficiencia económica. Se argumenta que las transferencias, financieras o reales, a los países en desarollo son necesarias para apoyar los esfuerzos del país y para compensar a los países tropicales por la provisión de los bienes públicos globales preservación del clima y biodiversidad. Por el contrario, las restricciones comerciales a la madera tropical son ecológicamente inefectivas y económicamente ineficientes. Además cargan el coste de la protección del bosque tropical sobre todo a los países tropicales y por ello no son aceptables desde un punto de vista distributivo.
