Abstract

Abstract: Food production in Colombia largely originates from peasant economies. Through the creation of agroredes (food producer organizations), efforts are made to increase efficiency of food supply beneficing both producers and consumers. To this end, policies have been implemented to promote associativity, including the Master Plan for Food Supply and Security of Bogotá (PMASAB), which aims to harmonize demand and promote the integration of agroredes. Although previous research has contributed to the characterization of agri-food organizations, little attention has been given to identifying levels of organizational maturity and their corresponding characteristics and needs. Therefore, the aim of this study is to characterize 60 agroredes that supply food to the city of Bogotá through an organizational diagnosis, applying multiple correspondence and cluster analysis. The results showed that half of the agroredes are formalized, most with defined functions, although they still require to consolidate their financial strategies. Three groups of agroredes were identified according to their level of maturity: 11 in organizational maturity, 43 in organizational openness and 6 in organizational development.
